Glickenhaus SCG 007 LMH
The Glickenhaus SCG 007 LMH is a sports prototype racing car built by Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus for the Le Mans Hypercar category in the FIA World Endurance Championship. History In 2018, the FIA and ACO approved the new Le Mans Hypercar regulation as a replacement for the LMP1 regulation in the World Endurance Championship that would come into effect from the 2021 season. On July 27, 2018, Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus was the first manufacturer to join the new category, as well as officially presenting the car they would race with, the Glickenhaus SCG 007 LMH. In October of 2023, it was announced that Glickenhaus would not return to the WEC in 2024. Development The car is developed by Podium Advanced Technologies. A sports prototype, sometimes referred to as simply a prototype, is a type of race car that is used in the highest-level categories of sports car racing. These purpose-built racing cars, unlike street-legal and production-based racing cars, are not intended for consumer purchase or production beyond that required to compete and win races. Prototype racing cars have competed in sports car racing since before World War II, but became the top echelon of sports cars in the 1960s as they began to replace homologated sports cars. 2021 8 Hours Of Portimão
The 2021 8 Hours of Portimão was an endurance sports car racing event held at the Algarve International Circuit, Algarve, Portugal, on 13 June 2021. It served as the second round of the 2021 FIA World Endurance Championship, and was the first running of the event as part of the championship. The race marked the debut of the Glickenhaus Racing car called the 007 LMH. The race was originally scheduled to be the opening round of the championship, replacing a race at Sebring International Raceway in Florida due to travel issues relating to the COVID-19 pandemic. The race was later postponed from the original date of 4 April due to quarantine regulations in Portugal, meaning it would no-longer be the opening round.
